This article names bayoumi... but neglects the FACT that the princess of saudi arabia contributed 3500 dollars a month to house and feed the murderers of americans on 911... that prince bandahar, husband, was and is a FRIEND of George W.'s
I honestly want to know what is up with this.
from the isokoff article:
Sources familiar with the evidence say the paymentsamounting to about $3,500 a monthcame from an account at Washingtons Riggs Bank in the name of Princess Haifa Al-Faisal, the wife of Saudi Ambassador to the United States, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, and the daughter of the late Saudi King Faisal. After Al Bayoumi left the country in July 2001two months before the September 11 terror attackspayments for roughly the same amount began flowing every month to Osama Basnan, a close associate of Al Bayoumis who also befriended the hijackers. A federal law-enforcement source told NEWSWEEK that Basnanwho was recently convicted of visa fraud and is awaiting deportationwas a known Al Qaeda sympathizer who celebrated the heroes of September 11 at a party after the attacks and openly talked about what a wonderful, glorious day it had been.
Administration officials expressed concerns that premature disclosure of the evidence of the financial payments could jeopardize the ongoing FBI probe, especially the bureaus efforts to apprehend and develop a case against Al Bayoumi. Upon leaving the United States last year, Al Bayoumi flew to Great Britain where he enrolled in a graduate-level business program at Birminghams Aston University. He was arrested by New Scotland Yard after September 11 but adamantly denied any connection to the attacks or knowledge of the hijackers links to Al Qaeda and was released a week later for lack of evidence. He is now believed to be back in Saudi Arabia. Law-enforcement officials say they are still intensely investigating his activities, suspecting that he may have served as an advance man for the hijackers.
The leaders of a joint House-Senate Intelligence Committees investigation have vigorously pushed for the release of a classified report that lays out the evidence of the Saudi money flow. But Bush administration officials, led by Attorney General John Ashcroft and FBI Director Robert Mueller, have adamantly refused to declassify the evidence upon which the report is based. Senate Intelligence Committee chairman Sen. Bob Graham declined to discuss the evidence gathered by the joint inquiry, but he said he was upset over the Bush administrations intransigence. This one stinks of people using classified information for political purposes, said Graham.

"wife of Saudi Ambassador to the United States, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, and the daughter of the late Saudi King Faisal."
Didn't Bandahar go to yale or harvard with W?

The bin Laden family is big into constructions. Many members lived in the Boston Area. Mohammed Atta, left went through Boston's Logan airport. The bin Laden family through its construction buisness has ties to Bechtel. j Wonder if any bin Laden/Al Queada engineers had a tour through the WTC?

I was under the impression he was a Georgetown classmate of Clinton's. When the Prince stayed at Crawford there were articles that Clinton was staying at the same hotel and he and Clinton had a 3 hour meeting one night before the Prince met with President Bush. So if you're looking for a President who is implicated in this, I would look no further than the Sink Emperor.

that prince bandahar, husband, was and is a FRIEND of George W.'sI understand why W still pretends to be friends with the Saudis although I don't like it. We should have kicked every last one of them out and closed the borders on 9-12-2001. I do have faith W will deal w/ the Saudis on his own timetable.

I find it much more interesting that the wife of a top Saudi diplomat was using her bank account to funnel money to the terrorists. She's protected by both a diplomatic passport, which protects her from being questioned by investigators, and the reluctance to kick one of "our good friends the Saudis" out of the country.
Bandar, if I'm not mistaken, is quite the socialite in DC, throwing lavish parties and having any number of influential friends.

Damn... you know, I did some stuff with Bechtel...
They are bin laden's folks?
You have any idea how many public and private facilities, tied to government that Bechtel was/is into?
Damn... one of them I had some aspect of production in was a water treatment facility.

yeah, and I don't like it either.
maybe W thinks this guy is his friend and since his friend is peaceful, "no worries mate," and all that.
I had a best friend decades ago, who stole a girlfriend or two, and then took advantage of them sexually... all-the-while maintaining that he was still my "best friend."
It's hard to think evil of your chosen friends.
I don't like that these folks are so two faced. Bush seems to be a straightforward type of guy. Why should we let them stay here as ambassador and ambassadorettes??
Obviously, since they are ambasadors, they have diplomatic immunity for whatever role they played in 9-11 right?
Saudi Arabia should be overthrown soon. Sadamned Insane can wait, in my view.
To: Catspaw
so then, these "friends of ours" participated in 9-11 financially... bush said all the folks who supported the terrorists would be held equally guilty... and HE has obviously known this for a year and they are still breathing.
They are still living here. They still walk around with impugnity. They are laughing at us.
So ashcroft did not want this made public because it might endanger the 'investigation'? It wouldn't matter if these folks assasinated our entire government... they have 'immunity' which means something here, as opposed to over there in their caldron of evil. I wonder how 'penetrated' our own government is with "friends" of Saudi Arabia?
The state department?
This is sickening.

I'm beginning to think this administration is a subservient and wholly owned subsidiary of the saudis.
To: swarthyguy
Bush has known this for how long?
If it's over three days, it's WAY too long for my comfort level.
Maybe he has some strategery that I sure-as-hell can't figure out.
Bandar, isn't he the one who offered us a check for millions, and then blamed us for the events of 9-11, that cynthia mckinney went after; begging him for money?
I like the President. I have trusted him. This bothers me a great deal. Meanwhile "Israel has to get out" of Bethlehem and such, after they get their little babies blown to bits on a bus by MORE friends of the saudis, friends of bandar, enemies of liberty and democracy.
I wonder how deep the rabbit hole goes. I wish Bush would go kinetic on these folks, instead of being so 'friendly' and passive. Bandar ever been to the "crawford" whitehouse for bar-be-que?
To: recalcitrant
It took the Saudis 9 months to even admit that 15 out of 19 hijackers were from their country...and then our president proceeds to entertain their crown prince at his ranch in Crawford. Now we've learned that the wife of the Saudi ambassador to the US was funnelling money to two of the hijackers and our administration is telling us, in essence, cool it. What crap. They should be as outraged as we are, but instead, they're downplaying this story. I'd like a straight answer from them why Bandar and his princess aren't tossed out of this country as personas non grata. They'd do it with any other country.
This is really....ticking (substitute another word associated with urination) me off.

No that was AlAlaweed, part owner of Citibank, Apple, Motorola, AOL, Intel, and others.
In the NYT article, it says this has been known for close to a year, something many of suspected by this time last year - the heavy involvement of the saudi royalty in jihadism and perhaps even knowledge of the attacks.
There is a picture of Bandar at Crawford sitting on the armchair's armrest all friendly with Bush.
Whatever happiness at his news finally coming out is tempered by the administrations stonewalling of this report and the Saudi connection. Prescott Bush comes to mind.
Everybody says wait - WHY? 14 months after the Attacks, and we haven't gone after the source.
If i use the words in my head the Homeland Security folks are coming after me.

>>I'd like a straight answer from them why Bandar and his princess aren't tossed out of this country
According to the attorneys for the families of the victims of the Saudi Attacks on America, the scums(sorry, scum) total investment in the USA comes to 860 BILLION $.
That's a lot of loyalty.
Straight Enough?
To: swarthyguy
Damn straight.
And I want Bush to look into the eyes of the families of 3000 or so victims of 9/11 and tell them, "The Saudis are our friends."

Fuggagedaboudit. IF 3000+ dead in NYC and Pentagon is going to move them, NOTHING will. Not even one of our cities melting down.
Japan Attacks Pearl. We "eviscerate" Japan.
Saudi Attacks NYC/DC. We invite them over for BBQ.
To: swarthyguy
"I'm beginning to think this administration is a subservient and wholly owned subsidiary of the saudis." I worry myself. I think the Saudi's are the source of most of the terrorist financing in the whole world. My patience is running out!!

If this was Clinton, we'd be asking for impeachment proceedings by now.
To: swarthyguy
"If this was Clinton, we'd be asking for impeachment proceedings by now." I may prove to be gullible but, I'm still expecting GWB to say "Got you" at some point.
