Aw, man, doesn't it seem like Kwanzaa bashing starts earlier and earlier every year. Why, when I was a kid we never started slagging this idiotic, made-up, Marxism-with-a-monorah crap until the day after Thanksgiving. It is never too early to Kwap on Kwanzaa.

Here's what I wrote on the Mattel response page:
In your Fisher-Price website, we see the following description of Hanukkah:
"Hanukkah celebrates the victory of Judah Maccabee and his followers over the Syrian King, Antiochus. This king had denied the Jews their religious freedom, and ordered his soldiers to destroy the Temple-which Judah Maccabee and his army restored. While cleaning the Temple, there was only enough oil to light the lamp for one day. But it went on to burn for eight days, which is the miracle Hanukkah commemorates."
It would be a great thing for your description of Christmas to have at least as detailed an overview of why Christmas is celebrated: Christmas is the time of year
When friends and families meet
To celebrate the birth of Christ
With song and gift and feast
The angels sang to men below
A song of silver light
That sent them running to the town
To find the child that night
Let the moon, the sun, the stars
The galaxies rejoice
Their Master sounds so different now
He has a human voice
Let the nations, cities, people
Old and young him praise,
Our master looks so different now
He has a human face.

I get extremely emotional about this topic. The past few holiday seasons have been difficult for me, as I have seen the nation plunge deeper and deeper into the depths of PC. The word "christmas" has been almost completely cleansed from radio, TV, and from store signs (all I see and hear is "holiday" and "season's greetings" etc). Its almost as if using the word "christmas" is now considered to be a hate crime.
Last year I made a decision that every time someone said "happy holiday" to me, I would respond with a pointed "merry christmas". It may not do any good in the long run, but I refuse to surrender the most wonderful time of the year to a PC ethnic cleansing campaign.

Thanks for the reasearch and for being tactful (some freepers would have flamed him), I guess the original poster didn't look as deep as he should have. It's December 1 and I am already sick of hearing "Happy Holidays". What ever happened to Merry CHRISTmas?

Thank you for posting this. I went to the website. You're right. No mention of the meaning of Christmas. I am not surprised however. The company was founded by a guy named Fisher, another guy named Price and a woman who never got her name on the company. Why am I not surprised.

Hi Coleus, thanks for the ping and especially for all your links. Re: the Kwaaanza article by Mulshine, I didn't copy the link, or the FReeper poster name either, unfortunately. I'm going to have to start doing both of those things. (Good for background info.) Michael Savage covered this last year. Nice to hear the truth every once in a while!

Great article. Just emailed it to some friends.
