I saw a daylight launch years ago and the sheer power of it was overwhelming.

The shuttle had traveled around the world before I got back to my motel 15 miles away.

A night launch is truly a sight to see- after the boosters have fallen off, you can still watch as the main engines continue to burn all the way into orbit- the beach lights up and down the coast, and the flames from the boosters seem twice as long as a daytime launch.

Awesome sight.

I got to go to the Museum in Florida about 15 years ago. Missed a sguttle launch, but got to stand next to the Saturn V that was on display. I don't think anyone can truly appriciate the sheer size of that monster until you see it up close and personal. I REALLY wish I would have been able to witness a Saturn V launch first hand.
