Would people get over this idea that London is somehow a suburb of Riyadh?
No, there are not that many Muslims. No more than I dare say than in New York City, for example.

It just smells ripe for a move. I'm prolly overly cautious or noid, but better to err on the side of caution when it comes to this lot.
Ivan...I am going to have to disagree with you here. Maybe there are an equal (or even greater) number of Muslims in NYC than London, but based on the press reports I have read since the Oldham riots and subsequently 9/11, the Muslims in the UK are far "louder" and more "militant" than those here in the US. Maybe because they are more afraid of retaliation here than they are in the UK.....they are definitely "bolder" in the UK.
NYC had 9/11/01.
Looks like a possible 12/07/02 for London.
Watch your back, MI.I enjoy your posts, and I hope the day passes with nothing more spectacular occuring than the crowning of a new Miss World.
No offense intended, but perhaps Russia or China would have been a safer and more formidable choice of venue.
I intend no sarcasm. While I am not a big fan of beauty contests, I do watch some of them, and I have no desire to see any of the participants harmed in any way.Russia or China may, in this case, be better prepared to offer the degree of controll needed to successfully air this program. Not that I harbor any great love for either country, but I am capable of pragmatic thought processes in a pinch
