Who is the Einstein who came up with Nigeria as THE place
To: All
Nigeria has a very large Christian population. I have known a number of Nigerian Christians who have either come here to preach, or to attend school. Our church, which is in a university town, has one young man, 18, from there right now...he's one of the brightest Spirit-filled Christians I have ever met--I love the kid...his name is Akeen.
Off the top of my head, I think the country is about 50-50, Christian/Moslem.
I'm praying for my brothers and sisters in Christ in Nigeria...and I hope others here will as well.

I guess the Nigerian Islams ruined all their country's rosy chances for a future summer Olympics, eh? Unless throat slashing and church burning become the next sanctioned events.

Amazing that someone would say that. I didn't know that those Muslim groups were associated with NOW. Anyway, I guess that the pageant, as well as that newpaper quote that said that Muhammed would try to choose a bride from among the women, was a great reason for them to go and bludgeon Christians to death. Maggots. Wait, I'm insulting maggots. At least maggots serve a purpose, getting rid of carcasses. Those "people" are their own species, a species lower than anything else.

Hint to the governing board of the Miss World pagent:
Next time hold the event in a country who's government doesn't change hands faster then Liz Taylor changes husbands.

I believe that is the funniest thing I've seen in a good while.

What's degrading to women is treating them like chattel and playthings for men to boss around. Islam is still in the dark ages as far as women's rights are concerned. What's ironic is the Islamonazis and the feminazis are both opposed to beauty pageants for much the same reasons even as they part company over the question of burqas.

"The beauty queens should not feel that they are the cause of the violence," he said. "It could happen at any time irresponsible journalism is committed against Islam." Olusegun Obasanjo, President of Nigeria

Nigeria is the first place I think of when it comes to glamor and glitz.
When it comes to Miss Isreal...haven't seen too many blond Isrealis. Is that Julia Roberts?

I am not a huge fan of beauty pageants, but I was never so proud as when I saw these young women talking to the media in defense of the Nigerian woman sentenced to be stoned. I saw one last night on Britt Hume(?) and couldn't help wondering, where the Hell is NOW, regarding that condemned mother? I takes a (loathed by NOW) beauty pageant contestant to take a stand.
NOW is a fraud.

Mohammed would have married ALL the contestants...

"That's uncalled for, rude and unChristian."
How is what I said un-Christian (or rude or uncalled for)?
Is not beauty (and for that mater uglyness), in the eye of the beholder? I just have higher standards than you do...
