Having read these posts, I wonder if it's the bookstores, or the people who work in them? Most bookstores are large chains out to make money, but their employees are as likely as not to be liberals, espcially in liberal enclaves. They probably aren't very well paid, and their loyalties are unlikely to be to some distant company headquarters.

All the bookstore clerks are university students. English majors. Not an R among 'em.

Same at Sam Goody's, all music majors, all liberals, greens.
