This is GREAT news!
But they won't give up. We really have to now work on turning this whole government land-grab thing back.

What I'm not seeing here is anyone noticing that S. 990, WAS introduced by Sen. Robert Smith (REPUBLICAN-N.H and SNUCK OUT ONTO THE FLOOR by House Resources Committee Chairman James Hansen (REPUBLICAN-Utah) AT 2A.M.
I need someone to continue to tell me just what the difference is between the Democrats and the glorious REPUBLICANS is.
Just which party is worse than the other? If you want socialism -vote Democrat, if you just want to get screwed vote Republican. Is that the picture that I'm seeing? You're damn right it is!!!

Without the Internet, this never would have happened.

It was after the last roll call vote of the year, nearly MIDNIGHT, with no debate, and voted through by "unanimous consent" - when only three Senators were present, everyone else having gone home to their home states!Hansen brought S.990 to the House floor and gained approval by "unanimous consent" - after nearly every congressman had gone home, at 2:35am!
Pardon my ignorance regarding the finer workings of Congress. But, how can these votes be done? What about a quorum? What about the, "We need at least 60 yea votes before we can consider it" in the Senate.
How does this work?? Kindly raise my IQ. Thanks!!

The pressure needs to be maintained. I believe the "hold" is only good for a year..

You into land grab stuff??

This is good news. The Endangered Species Act certainly shouldn't be expanded. If anything, it should be repealed.

FANTASTIC! Bunches of us here in NM called Domenici's office. He has been somewhat sympathetic to the Green's but not this time! Bottom line, we need to watch ALL of them!
