Exactly. He's just a lying little bastard who can't accept that he won't be in the limelight any longer. He wouldn't make a decent hair on Rush's ass. His political career is in shambles and he knows it. Couldn't even win his home state for its junior senator without voter fraud.

You can voice your opinion (or disgust) to the Senator from South Dakota himself at daschle.senate.gov/webform.html . I just gave him a piece of my mind and I will sleep better tonight. I encourage every conservative to do likewise.

They never offer any proof and the media never presses for it.

I agree. As one of the VRWC, I feel that Senator Daschle has done an admirable job in what can only be a difficult position. My only complaint would be that he has not stated clearly enough, or often enough, his core principle and unalloyed progressivism.

I can only hope that in the future the esteemed Senator from SD elevates his rhetoric and pushes the envelope in distinguishing himself and his party from that of the Republicans. To me, there is nothing quite so beautiful as the full glory of a flaming socialist burning out in a super nova of rug-chewing, spittle flecked, frothing.

Best wishes to you, Senator, I have always enjoyed your show and look forward to the rest of your show's run before it's cancellation.

What about all of the intemperate comments we've endured by Carville, Begala, Estrich, Nadler's "Smells of facism", the list is long and distingushed (yeah, like you know what).
So screw Daschle; they were the assholes that started the politics of destruction, hell, they wrote the book!

"He's just a lying little bastard who can't accept that he won't be in the limelight any longer. "

I never pondered it before, but fading into irrelevance from power must be tougher than puberty for a boy or menopause for a woman.

Here are some of the remarks shortly after the election from a fair and balanced web site:

11/6/02 Day after elections ANGRYDEMOCRATS.com

"Terry, You're Fired."

(possibly the world's shortest petition!)

Name: City:

State:

Registered Democrat: Email:

(email is only for verification only, it will NEVER EVER, EVER be given out)

THIS PETITION will be presented in person (WITHOUT EMAILS) to Terry McAuliffe, DNC Chairman. If you live near DC, come along! (We'll try to get it on video and post it here, so that everyone who signed can feel like they were there themselves.)

Go ahead, vent! [Add a comment to this page]

Bring It All Down. [2:24am]

WHAT DO WE EXPECT AFTER 14 MONTHS OF DASCHLE LICKING BUSH'S BOOTS??? WHERE ARE THE LEADERS WHO CAN BRING BACK THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY????? [2:41am]

I REALLY CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! WWIII here we come.... [2:48am]

Maybe if the dems hadn't kept saying "President Bush has done a great job in the war on terror!" What if they had said, "Bush is losing the war on terror by squandering the surplus on things that have nothing to do with national security." What if they had gone on the offensive. Really, what are these people afriad of? [2:55am]

Don't blame the media. Don't blame the Republicans. Sure as hell don't blame the American people! BLAME THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY. IT'S OK TO BE PISSED. Terry McAuliffe is a #^$&ing idiot. Daschle is a complete wuss. And you know they're not even going to draw the right lesson from this. No, instead they're going to decide that they need to pull back even further, to submit even more completely. What the hell are we going to do? The American people have no leaders who represent them: that's why only 40% of register voters turn out. [3:28am]

I really can't believe that we are facing control by these selfish, war mongering, stupid republicans! How can people vote for them? Don't they see this is a sham? That they want to send us to war. That they don't care that companies lie to us and take our retirement investments. That their attitude toward and dirty tricks over the years have caused the problems we are in overseas. That George Bush is just using Christianity as a smoke screen - he is an alcoholic cocaine addict for God's sake! I am so angry and depressed I can't stand it! [3:37am]

McCarville said it well tonight: The Democrats didn't give the people a clear choice, they didn't act like they were fighting for "anything". I hope this is the death knell for the accomodation wing of the DNC and DLC. The Democrats have compromised repeatedly over the last 10 years. The Republicans ask for 200%, and then "compromise" to 100%. The Democratic leadership is beyond "irrelevant", they are traitors to the roots of the Democratic Party. Daschle and Gephardt care more about their run for the 2004 Presidency than they do about their Party, their country, or the future of humanity. Disgusted in Modesto, CA, Jody [3:44am]

There is much more, but I don't have enough time to edit out the vile filth to make it acceptable for posting on a first class site like FreeRepublic.

This is all about painting those that voted in the Republicans this election as extremists. There will be more of this for a long time; up until the next election so the media can anoint the Dems as centrist, mainstream, voice of reason, common sense or whatever. This is Goebbles-like propaganda; demonize your foe. Ought to be able to recognise this crap for what it is by now. That is all we saw with Clinton/Gore.

Threats? Let me be the first to admit that I threatened Democrats -- with my Vote! And I fired that sucker off almost as soon as the poll opened.

It's people who use oversized fonts.

Turn the binoculars around, Johnny.

Doctor, follow me here for a minute:

Why would anyone on our side be threatening Daschle? I mean, think about it: We have every reason to love the guy.

His people, on the other hand, have every reason to hate him.

It stands to reason that if he's getting threats they're coming from his own unhappy party members does it not?

And if we carry this fantasy of his to its logical conclusion, wouldn't Tom Daschle- anthrax recipient- be remiss in not reporting these threats to the proper authorities?

For those who would like to see the Daschle press conference in its entirety (about 50 minutes), it is currently scheduled to run on C-SPAN and C-SPAN 2.

C-SPAN 2:19 am ET (11:19 pm Pacific time)

C-SPAN2 11:44 pm ET (8:44 pm PT)

I'm going to tape it. I think that I heard one snippet in which Daschle said that the Dems had problems having their voters "legitimized."

I'll have to listen to see if I heard it right. I think he was saying that they had trouble getting illegals made legal so that they could vote.

The calls are coming from Randy Newman. He's saying "Short people have no reason to live".

There was a time when Daschle never made a public statement without mentioning the anthrax sent to him in the mail. Like all Democrats he's a born victicrat.

Since the Congress isn't getting mail yet (or if they are it takes weeks to go thru the radiation thingy), and if the threats are coming over the phone they can be traced, he's obviously lying.

Trent Lott said he's never told by security one way or the other when threats come in. He knows the security guys will take care of him.

Tom is more believable when he's being a rat bastard.

It is funny watching the Dems wanting the Fairness Doctrine back because their wacky ideas are losing big time in the marketplace of ideas. They believe the corporations are why all talk radio hosts are right-wing, and it has nothing to do with ratings. Shoot, everyone they know watches and loves Donahue, so these ratings stuff must be rigged like the elections.

This is the same strategy Michael Bellesiles used--when you want sympathy, invent some death threats.

"Who's making the calls..."

You're actually believing that calls have been made? I have a hard time believing anything this liberal, whining slime ball says. I think it's just another embellished story to demonize the right. I'm surprised that Dicky Gephardt wasn't there beside lil' Tommy, talking about what some non-existent person told him.

FYI. Post #14 is the very best insight into the nature of daschle's rage yet. Excellent analysis.

Guess Rush had to serve as the dog. Just like he did in the aftermath of the Okla bombing. These liberals NEVER assume responsibility. What babies!
