Remember, the Dimms choose their candidate very early in 2004, so she'd have to announce in January or February 2003.

There has been a "scenario" posted here where the chosen candidate (Gore ???) is in a horrible accident (plane crash) or has a family/health emergency (child near death, cancer) and must drop out with only a few months to go -- Hillary then "steps in" to SAVE the Democratic party (she could not make it thru' a long candidacy and strong debates)

IMHO, it didn't work for Mondale in '02...and won't work for Hillary! in '04.
