one thing I have noticed lately -- liberals (esp. the ultra lefties) are miserable people -- really miserable -- even if they have what most would see as a "good" life (money, fame, looks etc.), they're still miserabble

Of course they are! In the last 14+ months, the issues have swung our way and their claptrap about the U.S. being so *evil* and bad just doesn't float anymore. National security is a HUGE concern for so many people, and that's an OVERWHELMINGLY Republican issue.
