The Germans still maintain a core essence of Nazism. It cannot be entirely irradicated. We Marines did our best though. Looks like the crauts need another big fist to slap them back to their senses.

Nice to see that racial, national, and ethnic hatred and stereotyping is still alive and well on Free Republic - so long as it is politically correct hatred and stereotyping.

Not to burst your bubble, but the Marines spent WWII in the Pacific fighting "Japs" (you know, "Nazi Lite"), not Germans. Also it's krauts, not crauts.

Hmm. Ignorant of history, full of hate, and a lousy speller. Apparently the Marines are keeping up the ancient and honorable practice of keeping the dregs of society off the streets.

I submit that you need to read more about WWII. While the Marine Corps did not play a major role in fighting the Germans, they did play a part. There were Marines in the OSS that fought in Europe, Marines assisted in the amphibious planning for D-Day, there were Marine contingents on the larger Naval vessels in the European Theater and the Marines secured and held Iceland (a very important emergency landing place for air traffic).

As the rest of your comments, I have a feeling that you have more problems than your knowledge of WWII.

Ever serve in the armed forces, punk? Evidently not, as you see fit to insult those who protect your freedoms from Islamic and German fascists alike.

You are obviously too ignorant to do basic research. Marines served in the Atlantic and European theaters. Leading the way during Operation Torch, the November 1942 North African invasion, Marines went ashore at Arzeu, Algeria, and moved overland to the port of Oran, where they occupied the strategic Spanish fortress at the northern tip of the harbor.

Another Marine detachment aboard the cruiser USS Philadelphia landed Nov. 10, 1942, at the port of Safi, FrenchMorocco, and secured the airport.
