Didn't one of our recon satellites once make a map of underground tunnels in the 1980s? I seem to recall we RELEASED that photo to show the Soviets they couldn't hide stuff from us...

Yup. Synthetic aperture radar has found long-buried river beds in the desert, underground facilities, and all manner of buried things.
