Hardball College Tour: Hillary Clinton University at Albany, Nov. 20, 9 p.m. ET
Chris Matthews MSNBC ^ | 11/19/02 | MSNBC

As a young girl, Hillary Clinton was voted most likely to succeed. As a Yale law student, she met Bill Clinton. As his wife, she broke the traditional mold of First Lady. Hillary Clinton was the first working mother in the White House, the first to lead a major, cabinet-level policy committee, and the first to become a United States senator. She joins us at University at Albany for the Hardball College Tour.

SHE’S RECOGNIZED around the world, not only for her contributions and challenges as the former first lady, but also as an advocate for democracy and human rights.

Many are convinced that she should — or will — make a bid for the White House come 2004. Pollster John Zogby has been quoted saying that she would be a strong candidate. In the polling of possible Democrats who could bid for the White House, including former Vice President Gore, Sen. John Edwards, Rep. Dick Gephardt, and Sen. John Kerry, among others, Clinton “always finishes a strong second to Gore,” he says.

Where does Hillary see her political career headed? What did she think of the election results? Chris Matthews goes one-on-one with the senator from New York — at University at Albany.

“Hardball” will be broadcast live at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on Nov. 20 from the Page Hall auditorium at the Albany Downtown Campus. Tickets are limited to University at Albany students with a valid ID on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are available at the Quad Information Centers, the Student Activities Office (CC-130), and Copies Plus. Doors open at 7 p.m. ET

"Hardball" my ass.

Matthews interviewing Hillary on a New York college campus - with dozens of burly lesbians and the gently lobbed questions, you know it's going to be softball season.

How much LOWER can Mathews go? His program must be in a spiral. Desparate situations call for desparate measures.

Matthews is lucky if they don't dump him after Donahue. I heard his ratings were lower than Donahue. This show with Hillary will put him into minus ratings. Not a smart move.

Hillary Clinton was voted most likely to succeed

Success comes in many forms and is relative to what your goals are. Lucifer is a success to many people. Hopefully we won't witness or live through too much more of his success.

That said, yes, I guess Hillary is a success. We won't name the ways. Too numerous to mention here at FR, been there, done that, and besides I just had a late supper and don't want to retire ill this evening.

Main campus at SUNY-Albany was a congerie of socialists all the way back to the 1960's.

This is the intellectual hothouse where there was a dust-up by the Black Students Union about the use of the word "PICNIC", in a poster for a spring get together, because they said it really referred to lynchings of black people in the old South.

Congratulations on surviving the educational experience.

Regards,

I lasted 30 seconds and I had to change the channel. A great sucking sound came from Matthews side of the stage.
