You what really irritated me during that time about the media stating the protests and rallies were put on by paid Republicans who were bussed in? 1) I had to pay my own busfare. Not a fun ride with three children 5 and under. 2) I never got paid! Someone owes me according to these reports. ;-)

I've got a story. I live in Washington. That Christmas season, I took a cab from Northwest (which is where Dick Cheney's house is) downtown one Saturday evening. I started talking with the cabbie, as I frequently do. He was a part-time rock musician. (I bought his CD--he's good.) He went on and on about these people with their Sore Loserman signs and their chants. I kept my own political views somewhat hidden, the better to get him to talk. (I already know what I think--I'm interested in how other people form their political opinions.) But at some point he got suspicious, and accused me of being a Freeper. I had never heard of Free Republic before. And I've been posting ever since!

Gore lied, we were not bussed in. Karena lied, her Dad did in fact try to get AFL-CIO members on his corner the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend and the Washington Post (The Bible of the Liberals) reported it.
And Tipper said she played "whale sounds and nature sounds" at us. Well if she did, we never heard her. Well except for her trips to the little girls room. Hey Tipper, it sounds like somebody's pouring a bucket of water out a third story window. Be a little more lady-like will ya....

Besides...wasn't Kerenna married and had a husband and son of her own? Why then did she feel like she was trapped in this little house? She should have been home in her own house with her own husband and son. Why was she staying there? Then I loved the way Tipper said they moved the "CHILDREN." What IS it with these people anyway? Their three daughters if I am not mistaken had all been moved from the house already and the son was the only one actually living there ... correct me anyone if I am wrong. Either way ... the "CHILDREN" were all ADULTS and no one was twisting their arms to stay there. I don't think they had to be afraid of the crowds out front. How silly they are.

"...And he was on the phone, really calling off the dogs. There were people who wanted to fan the
the flames of the racial issue and have real unrest..."A very interesting tidbit Kareena inadvertantly let out. Who were the "dogs" she mentioned, and just what does she mean by "the flames of the racial issue, hmmm?

TIPPER GORE: Things like that, yes, and, and sometimes
things that we don't want to say on your program, and, some people saw that they were buses from "churches,"....Tipper Gore HATES Christians. After all, she is a LIBERAL.
This passage is designed to slander Christians. Put the pieces of Tippers lie together and people have to conclude that people at churches got on buses to come down to her home and curse at her.

A very interesting tidbit Kareena inadvertantly let out. Who were the "dogs" she mentioned, and just what does she mean by "the flames of the racial issue, hmmm? Probably she's referring to Jesse Jackson's "warning". I can't remember his exact words now, but he basically said that the black community would riot if Gore didn't win the recount.
Here's the "leader of the black community" (he must be, CNN/ABC/NBC/CBS/pMSNBC always address their questions to the black community to him) trading on the worst racist stereotype of black people that there is, that they're prone to violence at the least provocation. That's what Jesse was threatening.
Way to go Jackson. So Jesse, "Stay Out Da Bushes" or wear a condom dude. Why couln't Jesse have said "The" instead of "Da"?

Is Al Gore raising two pussy cats for kiddies?
When I was growing up (in an Irish household, albeit, where words are a bit more...erm..lyrical...than most places)..I would have been relieved at niceties like 'Get out of Cheney's House'.
*LOL*

I started lurking on FR during the 2000 election, and all through the nightmare that followed I visited FR at least two or three times a day. The posts here were a welcome antidote for the constant stress I was feeling every day. I was convinced that Gore would somehow find a way to steal the election. Why not? For 8 years Clinton had had the luck of the devil himself, and I just naturally assumed that this luck would rub off on The Tree. I was sure that everything was stacked in his favor.
But then I read the stories about the demonstration at Cheney's house, and for the first time I felt some hope. Here were some people just like me, and they were being heard. I had never associated protest with the right before, but now it seemed like a natural fit. Suddenly I had the feeling that we weren't going to lose this one. Eight years of cynicism dropped off me like a boulder from my back. Man, did that feel good. :-)
Thank you, Freepers!

A very interesting tidbit Kareena inadvertantly let out. Who were the "dogs" she mentioned, and just what does she mean by "the flames of the racial issue, hmmm?Indeed, this is a very subtextually rich statement, masquerading as a crybaby whine on Kareena's part. Just an off-the-cuff interpretation:
1) Kareena, and Al himself, stumble all over themselves pretending not to know that freerepublic orchestrated these demonstrations. We're "The Thing That Must Not Be Named," apparently, along with Limbaugh. They know exactly who was behind it, and yet they prevaricate with "right-wing Bush activists" and "churches." I'd expect the both of them, along with every other Democratic operative worth their salt, spend at least an hour daily reading this forum. I'd love to see the server stats sometime.
2) Proof positive that, unlike DU, we happen to be effective. When was the last time you heard any conservative type remark about anything that any leftist group orchestrated having any effect on them whatsoever? Approximately never? And yet here you have the almost-leader-of-the-free-world, and his considered-relevant-for-some-inexplicable-reason-TV-producer daughter, practically bawling about a mere demonstration.
3) Pretty damned implicit threat on Kareena's part there... "Well, okay, freerepublic, you think you're so bad... YOU'RE just LUCKY we didn't CALL THE DOGS OUT on you, because we COULD have, you know! WE could have turned your little PROTEST into a RACE RIOT! You should be THANKING Al Gore for letting you LIVE!"
Babawa can pretty much bite me, also, for her breathless gasping at the "brutality" of this alleged "siege." Why... it's a... it's a MIRACLE that you made it out ALIVE!!! Those NAZIS!!! "Were you SCARED?" Yes, Barbara, I'm sure they were terrified by the grannies with their placards. It was krystalnacht all over again. Pathetic.

I used to read the comic strip "Bloom County", the author did a funny series about "radical republicans" taking over a university. They demanded G. Gordon Liddy be made Chancellor. One of the police was a liberal looking hippie, who screamed "this is Reagan's fault!"LMAO! I remember that! I probably still have that book lying around in a box somewhere. My GOD, that rocked. Bloom County was predominantly left-of-center, but it excoriated the liberal stereotype frequently, usually to brilliant effect.
