The primary reason that I am no longer a practicing Catholic is the proliferation of people like this within the Church- Leftist, pro-abortion, pro-criminal and illegal immigrants, pro-homosexual pederast Priests, and anti-American.
Make me Pope for one day, and see how many excommunications could be done in 24 hours. It would be a miracle to rival the Loaves and the Fishes!!!
The Catholic Church stands for nothing today- at least in America. It's a shame- but it went off the tracks in the 1960's, and I don't know if it can ever really recover. It was taken over by the Lefties, just like the Universities and the legal 'profession".

It's a shame- but it went off the tracks in the 1960's, and I don't know if it can ever really recover. Indeed it did. It was infiltrated by Communists. A FReeper named Polycarp can refer you to the documented facts of these events. Communists hate the Catholic Church as much or more than they hate America. They have infiltrated both and seek to destroy us from within.
After many years of disillusionment, many other Conservatives and I have returned to the Church to fight a battle against this evil.
We need your prayers.

I've got a feeling you're not going to find any Church to your liking.
Or any wife or kids, either.
Maybe we should just canonize you a saint and get it over with.

Ranger, there is a movement of Catholics where you would be happy and feel welcomed. That movement is the traditional Catholic movement. In our movement, we exclusively attend the traditional (pre-Vatican II) Latin Mass, we receive exclusively the traditional sacraments and we look to sources like the Catechism of the Council of Trent and the Douay-Rheims Bible. There is a web site called "traditio", www.traditio.com, which lists all of the traditional Latin Mass sites around the country. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
