Democratic senators and liberal groups have criticized Shedd's ruling as a trial judge, saying he has been insensitive in civil rights and employment discrimination cases.

Will anybody ever be required to put-up-or-shut-up regarding these silly allegations of racial insensitivity? He's a Bush nominee and a friend of Thurman. That's enough to get the racial Jihadists opposed to him. The rest of the media just carries their charge without any examination of the particulars.

That's what I want to know. I just started a search to find out what these so-called "civil rights issues" are and the first link I clicked on was to NOW. They have a whole page on Shedd, which I skimmed through and dismissed because they have no sources cited or cased docs to link to etc. In fact the ONLY source was - get this - here's the case they cite and the source -

In 1998, he ruled against the American Civil Liberties Union in its challenge to a local school board's enforcement of a student dress code that regulated skirt lengths and prohibited denim.*
