There actually WAS a ( VERY short-lived ) series on the tube last year about a "liberal" senator who gets handed his walking papers by the electorate - ( Oh the UNFAIRNESS of it all ! ) - and has to try to figure out what to do with the rest of his (financially quite secure) life.
He kept saying things like : "But..but.. I took the RIGHT position on things like gun control, and health care...! "
The show was a huge yawn.
