MY GOD, would the lot of ye look at yourselves for a second?

Stop scrutinising the messenger.
Look at the message they deliver...and, either obliterate it, or disseminate it.
In this instance, I think this particular journalist is WAY off base. But she is NOT unlike many others I've encountered across Europe. (I am actually one of the few Bush supporters writing in Ireland for example)


Maybe it's because I'm a journalist myself (in a small publication in Ireland, albeit) that I dislike what I see here sometimes.
Stop taking the woman apart physically (DOH! Just because she doesn't look like Kathy Ireland, doesn't mean she hasn't got something to say!!!!). But if what she says sucks...tear THAT apart. EMAIL her publication. CALL her publication. Get her editors talking.

But stop with the neanderthal topics of 'Oh she's ugly, she obviously is dumb, eh? Pass me a beer Monty, I need ta chug a couple more 'fore I's goes home to da wife'.

People are getting it backwards, I think.

Genuine ugliness comes from a contamination of the soul, and this can leave an effect on one's face. Look at Helen Thomas, who is so shrill and angry in her hatred of President Bush.

But not being a supermodel doesn't imply that one is deprived of intellect, morality or nobility. And those latter qualities represent true beauty.

In this case, the writer is going down the Helen Thomas route. I might even agree years of ill-temper will scar her. But that is not to imply she's bad because of the way she looks.
