CA: Budget gap might make Davis sorry he won

SUGGESTION to Gov. Gray Davis on the $21 billion shortfall predicted for next year's budget: Ask for a recount. Of the Nov. 5 election. You never know. If only 200,000 votes change sides, Bill Simon will be the one up to his neck in budget quicksand.

What I'm talking about is the super expensive experiment drugs being used on aids patients who are basically terminal. Often these expensive drugs are mixed into drug cocktails of two or more.

The result is the same. Their immune system gets weaker, and they develope a resistance to the newer anti viral drugs. Then that cocktail is discarded an another super expensive anti viral cocktail is started. After 1 to 2 years most patients die and due to the side effects of the drug cocktails, they have had a miserable last two years.

Morphine and all the pain killers and hospice care would have been better for them and would have saved the rest society of a lot of money.

This is the silver lining in the California wipeout of the GOP and Bill Simon this year... The worst state budget melt-down in American History will have nary a GOP fingerprint on it.

The budget requires a 2/3rd vote, so the GOP will have some say.

Ultimately, it is hard to say it is a good thing when you see the flood of crazy laws that will be coming down the pike...

Isn't amazing that the Bee and now the Mercury after the election are bringing up the budget problem.

Our local papers, The Monterey Heraldo, Communist Weakly, Salinas Killerfornian, all practically ran headlines saying "vote Communist." The Mockery News is no different.

It is interesting they all endorsed Krusty Anus for state senate(another Gary Condidit in the making). The California sheople actually do it.

Hopefully, Republicans will just sit on the budget and let absolutely nothing pass. I suggested this to our state assemblyman Peter Frusetta (R) when the 'Rats swept in with Davis. He said it would be irresponsible. Looks like I was right. Frusetta was term limited out. Still like the guy a whole lot, but he didn't see it coming...

I think the best way to stop tax increases and state spending is to not pass a budget for two years...

I just think the Republicans should use a threat of stopping any budget for the next two years as a threat to keep the insanity at bay. Then, like the 'rats would do, not pass a budget at all.

My (Undying Liberal) sister-in-law is already steadfastly convinced the deficit is not Red Davis' fault. She insists he inherited all the fiscal problems from Pete Wilson. No amount of reasoning or facts can convince her otherwise. She just insists all the louder!

So, maybe Red Davis has a chance after all?

let's just hope that Davis maintains his delusions that he can be elected president. Those aspirations should convince him to veto some of the nuttier bills, such as drivers licenses for illegal aliens. However, if he becomes convinced that his career is finished, he might decide to the wacky legislature the green light to open the flood gates.

70% chance California will demand a Federal bailout within 3 years OR  Federal loan guarantees. Cali will not be able to market it's debt at a reasonable rate without Federal loan guarantees.

Parts of California are not being properly represented in the state legislature because of the weight of areas like Los Angeles and the Bay Area. This is why California should be broken up into at least two different states.

There will be no bailout by President Bush. However, he will probably have to order the Fed to guarantee the bonds as you noted.

This is another story the left wing mediots are keeping spike. We may not make it to 3 years before the walls come crashing down on the tax, spenders and anti business legislature we have.
