public colleges not to enroll undocumented immigrants I don't mean to be plumb ignorant here, but can they enroll undocumented aliens? I remember the hoops we had to jump through to get my daughter in two different universities. I didn't know if you were "undocumented" they'd just say "oh, that's ok, honey." Would have saved us a lot of trouble. Maybe they just pick on people who are obviously American. Geez.

Let the AG know how he's doingYep. I sent a very nice thank you for a job well done.:-)
To: RodgerD
my message to the AG: Dear Attorney General Kilgore:
Thank you for your strong efforts on behalf of US citizen students and their families.
You are absolutely correct to demand that tax-payers not be forced to subsidize illegal aliens and other law-breakers.
Sincerely,

They shouldn't be able to but they do. The University of California, I think, has some sort of don't-ask-don't tell practice in place.
This, despite new reporting rules for foreign students in the wake of the 9-11 Arab Terrorist Attacks. Of course these new rules apply only to those on legal F-1 Student visas.

Good find. I like this part:
It's an effort to get a message from the federal government to certain foreign students, researchers, employees and visitors from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan and Syria: Report to the nearest INS district office by Dec. 16 or face possible deportation.
However: 9-11 Terrorist's countries of nationality: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Lebanon.

"We say in this country that if you work hard you should be able to achieve the American Dream," said Tisha Tallman, regional counsel for the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund...Or at least if you climb fences, wade streams, hide in vehicles, or overstay visas well.

The failure to confront the danger that faces America is the reason more devastating blows than 9-11 lay ahead.

Kilgore is right.

In recent years, a few states including New York, California and Texas have moved in the other direction, not only allowing undocumented students to enroll in public colleges but also granting them in-state tuition. And a bill introduced by Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) would encourage other states to do the same. Do you agree with Senator Hatch on this madness? If not let him know. WE VOTE, dammit, and WE ARE MAD AS HELL, Hatch!
