I don't think they called off their dogs at all.

Jesse Jackson's protest fizzled, probably because he ran out of DNC money.

Also, I think it really frightened them that we were able to get spontaneous volunteers. We had never done that before. They were used to having the streets to themselves.

As one of the proud Florida FReepers, I can tell you that the incident happened in West Palm Beach and was initiated by FReeper, Gene McDonald (aka: "SeekingTheTruth", who showed up with his bull horn and some other FReepers.

They positioned themselves right in front of the platform that was set up for Jackass Jackson to speak from and shouted him down. (I've pinged Gene to this thread, and he can give more details if he likes).

When the whole mess was transferred to Tallahasse, Fl., many of us headed up there and spent the weekend protesting in front of the State Capitol. C-Span carried our protest and I have it on videotape. LOL
