I am proud to say that I was one of the many thousands of people, some freepers, but thousands of others who spontaneously went to the Governor's Mansion in Austin to protest the attempted theft of the election by Gore. Lurker Ann and I were NOT Freepers then. We just heard about the protest and decided to go (in our car). Thats where we learned about Free Republic and what a realy nice bunch of people the DC Chapter is (not to the opposition, of course).

We have been freeping ever since. Thanks Al. Without your greedy, self-centered recount tactics we might never have gotten involved.

As I remember correctly. It was the Thanksgiving week-end. Mr. T and I were sitting in our home in New Jersey with our blood boiling and really upset at what was happeneing. My daughter and her family were there for Thanksgivng and we asked her if she mind if dad and I drove to DC to join the "Sore Loserman" Rally.

Within minuets, we were packed and on to DC. We called and reserved a room in a down town Hotel by the White House(Can't remember the name). I called home to let everyone know we got ther Ok and I found out Dog was looking for a ride. Oh WOW! We had just missed each other. We would have given Dog a ride, but we left so quickly, we missed each other.

Anyway, that's my memory of the "Sore Loserman" Rally. No one paid me, or busses me there. I saw it on FR and took myself to the Rally. Gore is re-writing history folks.
