Yeah, Reagan was a dummy, too. And look what he accomplished:
- "The former Soviet Union" -- 4 of the sweetest words in the English language.
- The end of the New Deal, the Great Society -- and liberalism as a viable ideology.
- The end of two decades of inflation and a decade-and-a-half bear market in stocks.
- A political realigment that is still going on today, spelling the eventual splintering of the Democratic Party.
We could all use a few dummies like that.

Reagan was a great President. But the end of the New Deal and Great Society? I'm getting FICA taxes confiscated from my paycheck every week. My money still pays for senior citizens (many who are more financially secure than I) to get health care, retirement pensions, and prescription drugs. I still pay for crack whores on welfare. My money pays for other people's college education. The federal budget is near or over 2 trillion dollars. I think the Great Society (a.k.a. the Great Myth by which everyone tries to live at the expense of everyone else) is alive and kicking... and kicking me in the pants.

Hmm, how about a book, How to be a President for Dummies? Might be a best seller.
