My guess:
2 will successfully defect.
1 will take an Arkansas dirt nap.
4 will lose the primaries to more liberal opponents
8 others will lose to Pubbies when the DNC denies them funds.
3 will retire following this session.
2 will resign midway through.

Total gone by 2004 -- 20.

BTW, I'm pulling these numbers out of my, well, you know.
