I mean no disrespect to you EggsAckley and I do believe you when you say you hear messages. By faith I believe in a spiritual realm--a battle even, between good and evil. Sometimes the two can get blurred and what we will sometimes think is good really is not. (evil can come in sheeps clothing) I know virtually nothing about this particular man, John Edwards, but I do know something of the spiritual battle and this Edwards fellow seems to be on the side of evil. Nothing is neutral when it comes to stuff like this. Edwards is literally the devils advocate.

She does communicate with dead animals. I saw her once (while I was flipping through channels) talking with a celebrity who had three dogs, one of which recently died. She was telling this celebrity that the dead dog appreciated the kindness shown to it during its last days and that the dog was "watching over him". It moved the celebrity to tears.

Because he's a charlatan and a scumbag and he prays on the emotions of people who don't know better (kind of like our former president). Look the guy charges 4Gs and higher for "private readings" to communicate with the dead, if he's not really communicating with the dead (which he isn't) that's FRAUD. As a person schooled in the techniques of magic and mentalism it's my duty to use my knowledge to try to help people (didn't you ever read Spiderman?). Trying to help people isn't liberal, unless you're calling Jesus a commie. Insisting the government force everybody to help everybody else, that's liberal. If I can keep 1 person from giving this charlatan money my time has not been wasted. And it's my business because I know, and can prove, that he IS a charlatan.

Edwards is everything you told me he was--and then some. I know we will likely disagree on his motives but I clearly see this man as an advocate of Satan himself.

No one is hurt in the production of the show and no one pays any money to appear.

This may be true about the show, but what many people don't know is that Edward uses his stature to book high-priced private readings at his headquarters in New York. He charges about $300 an hour and is booked for months in advance.

Do you still want to say no one's being scammed?

Hilarious. I can watch her now and then for laughs. However, guys like Edwards disgust me so much that I can't bear to watch them at all. Like a previous poster said, they are evil.

I actually like her, her technique is really good. Still a hoax and destined for hell if Dante has anything to say about it, but at least she puts on a good show. That's the other thing that irritates me about Edward: he sucks. Anybody on this thread could do a better job cold reading just using what they learned from the original article. Edward is belligerent and grossly telegraphs his hunt and peck.

Well first realize that I was borrowing from Dante who saved some really nasty stuff for Edward's ilk. But aside from that the guy plays on heart strings and lies his ass off for his own gain, not unlike one former president we've all grown to know and despise. He's profiting off of people's grief, which is just sick.

Many people have different ideas on how Mr. Edwards does what he does. Many of those ideas have been proven wrong, but none of them have been proven right.

Have you personally experienced a battle? Yes. Whether people can acknowledge or discern it or not--we all experience this struggle. I base this on a higher Truth than myself.

I would hope Satan could do a better job of recruiting, Edward really isn't good at what he does.

One other thing that gets me (most of the time I keep Edward in that part of my brain I ignore because the stuff in there is so irritating) is his little Jerry Springer-oid "communicate with your loved ones" message at the end. Like 30 minutes of lieing to people is suddnely OK because he just gave us psychologically good advice. It does tell me that on some level he knows that what he's doing is wrong.
