Change "religious right" in this letter to Jew or Muslim and no self-respecting newspaper in America would print it, due to the hate filled bigoted bile being spewed therein.

Of course, we all know that in places controlled by liberals, be it the media or Ithaca, the only acceptable bigotry is bigotry against Christians.

Why do the churches active in the religious right vote exclusively Republican? Because the religious right controls the Republican Party.

The same could be said of the Democrats. Clinton was swept into office by the religious right in 1992 and 1996, by those who supported his pro-military, anti-gay, prohibitionist, tough-on-crime positions. Quoting from bible in his SoBap preacheresque fashion more than any other previous presidential candidate in recent history helped garner support for his agenda. Conservative Democrats have always had the full support of religious conservatives in the Southern states.

As an activist this past election, I personally posted some Christian Coalition Voter's Guides. If a Christian were to follow the answers to key questions, they would have no real choice but to vote the straight Republican ticket. This was base on such questions as Partial Birth Abortion, State Funded Abortions, Permanent Tax Cuts, Social Security, School Vouchers, etc.

Actually, it doesn't require Christianity to use some common sense on those issues. Only a moral compass.
