Brisbane - Women across Australia are being urged to show their support for Muslims by wearing a head scarf for a day.

The November 29 campaign was dreamed up by Canberra resident Avigail Abarbanel in response to harassment of Muslim women in Sydney and intelligence raids on the homes of Muslims nationwide.

"There is no rally to attend, no money to donate - all you have to do is put on a scarf for the day," Abarbanel, who is Jewish and served in the Israeli army, said on Wednesday.

"I just wanted to give them the feeling that somebody cares and the more people join me, the more we send a message to people that we do care about them, that we're not going to make them feel marginalised and hated," she said.

'There is no rally to attend, no money to donate' It was not clear whether the campaign would catch on. Abarbanel has received little media attention since coming up with the idea 10 days ago.

Muslims have been abused and spat on since October 12 when terrorist bombs ripped through a crowded nightclub on the Indonesian island of Bali, killing nearly 200 people including about 90 Australians.

If you really want to support a muslim woman (and I don't know why anyone would) then take the friggin things OFF!

Personally I would'nt support anything muslim..... they are just as bad as the men, they passively allow muslim men to abuse them and their daughters and they willingly strap on bombs to kill innocent people.

So if you want to do something to support the innocent victims take that muslim scarf and pull really really hard......

Just what I was thinking. Or perhaps submit to a polygamous marriage, refuse to
educate your female children, cook a yummy dinner of (carbohydrate of your
choice) and sheeps' eyeballs or chop off the hand of a shop-lifter. Or you could
highjack an airliner and fly it into a building. There is an apartment building in
northern Virigina favored by some Islamic tribe of people who force their women to wear metal face masks at all times in public. It is very unnerving to get on an
elevator with those folks.

I tend to spit on individuals that are dewy eyed with compassion for implacable enemies that just haven't shown their colors yet, while not being able to muster compassion and understanding for their fellow countrymen who are under threat and attack. If a person is a Muslim they are already outted as an extremist by the very fact that they adhere to the Quaran and it's bloody ambitions. Neither in Christianity nor in Judism can the individual behave as if he is standing before a smorgasbord of ideals, able to pick and choose a little of this or that. It's all or nothing.

So we are asked to believe that in Islam one can pick and choose from the cornucopia of dictates offered in the Quaran for peace (peace of one Islamic toward another Islamic) as opposed to the demand for violence that must be visited on all unbelieving infidels that will not bend? I don't think so.

Actually though, I'd be much more supportive of Muslum women if they didn't help their husbands to turn their children into walking bombs. I'd be more supportive of them if they slit the throats of their abusive husbands while they slept.

Hey, they could always claim one of the black slaves must have done it!

Many of the Muslum women are a huge part of the problem. I favor liberating them, but let's keep things in perspective here!
