Ugh! Thanks for the explanation. Guess he's up for reelection in 2004 then. Got any good Republicans that can abort his career???

I predict 2004 will be the year of the looney left candidate.
Every so often, the Dems nominate someone from the looney left of the party (McGovern-72, Mondale-84). They are overdue.
The party's left wing thinks they lost the mid-term election because they didn't explain their positions clearly enough (translated to non-political jargon: we didn't stand up and proudly declare how liberal we were.) Any moderate presidential candidate is going to be attacked as the same type of candidate that lost in the mid-term elections.
Look for a Barbara Boxer or Nancy Pelosi type to be the Dem candidate in 2004.

Gracey, there are a LOT of stupid people in this state, most of them Yankees that come down here for the weather and to wreck our politics evidently!

This "fresh face" is a $3000 empty suit with Gucci loafers.
Edwards and his vile lawyer industry is a collection of truly evil, corrupt, vile, rapacious vermin. Edwards" legal industry spits on the Constitution and ethics. They regard themselves as being above the law. Lawyers like Edwards steal and ruin lives without the slightest compunction.
These observations are shared by most Americans who regularly rate lawyers as having a level of confidence and respect at the absolute bottom of all professions and occupations. Edwards is the last person we would ever want as President: another lawyer/sociopath like Clinton.

I always wondered about that and my husband reminded me that folks like Brokaw, Jennings, etc kept calling him the "handsome newcomer"....the future of the Democratic Party. That "soccer moms" would support him. I can't remember anyone in the Republican Party being called "handsome" by the media.

Last I knew, NC law did allow a candidate to run for more than one office, but the Republicans in the state legislature were drafting legislation that would change that (specifically because of Edwards). I haven't read anything about it recently.

I'm very worried about Edwards.
He is so popular in his homestate that he leads unknown opponents by 10 points.
43% to 33% with the remainder undecided.
With numbers like those, Bush might as well tell Karl Rove to prepare for campaign events in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Might as well shoot for 50 if you can do it.

A lot of people seem to feel that way. I have to admit, I don't know that much about him. Dan from Michigan has been sounding the alarm about Edwards for a long time.

FYI...

He's not even as high as a 'trial lawyer'. He is just an old-fashioned ambulance chaser. He caught a slow one, with a fat pay-off.

Bush will win NC by 15 points regardless of who runs. The South is Bush's. Period.
