The FAA is looking into reports that in the interest of time, the flight crew opted to change two tires before takeoff instead of three.

Please humor us. I live in NYC where NASCAR has not been invented yet, so any inside info I receive is via the internet.

Well--let's just say that most of the jokes have to do with "driving hard"; hitting the wall "hard"; going "too hard" on the gas...etc...you get the basic idea...each joke is accompanied by about 15 redneck guys guffawing the whole time...it was an experience I can't quite put into words

People with more money than aviation ability and brains, hire professional pilots.

People with more money than aviation ability and brains, hire professional pilots. The article doesn't say for sure, but it sounds like Martin had a professional pilot in the left seat.
Jason Simpson was piloting the plane with Martin.
My point was the fraction of a second allowing for a decision as one approaches rotation. There isn't time to look at the instruments right then.

My post was a credit to Martin, for having a pro in the left seat.
