This may affect how I buy real estate...
In 12th grade my friend spent two days of Physics class expounding on "The Hab Theory," a theory borrowed from a novel explaining how the earth was going to flip over soon. It's one of the few things I remember from that class, except for my other friend who used to spend the class reading the newspaper in the front row.
Has anyone stated the obligatory..."This is Bush's fault"?

Pole flipping? Are we talking like when you get your Festivus pole up-side down?
...Seasoned citizens will be forced to eat dogfood...
The magnetic reversal is directly related to glaciation and the onset of a new ice age, if history is any indicator.

These devices are Man's eyes and ears.
I think the Earth would be able to get on just fine without them.
A throw-away remark by a physicist a hundred years ago has been taken as obvious truth without further reflection.
If we had elected John Kerry this would not be a problem. He had a plan to deal with this.
Journo-tards who never passed precalculus ought not write about science.
Geez. Talk about something that's really not worth worrying about. This sort of thing happens fairly often on geological time scales. Inconvienient, but nothing to buy a bomb shelter over.
Welp, guess it's time to cash in those t-bills......
Even Einstein agreed with this HAB theory or crust displacement theory. I have heard speculation that this shift could have caused the Great Flood as, according to Newton's theories, objects in motion(spinning water) stay in motion.
"...its strength has dropped precipitously over the past two centuries and could disappear over the next 1,000 years."
Maybe I am missing something but I don't think I will be putting this on my "things to lay awake at night and worry about" list.

When the poles reverse, will the Algore Lo-Flo Toilets still work???
Well, if reversals "happen ever 250,000 years or so," but there hasn't been one for almost 1 million years, then they don't happen every 250,000 years or so. Sheesh! If this is an example of the reasoning ability of the scientists wringing their hands over the magnetic field, then I don't trust any of their pronouncements.
We're all gonna die soon. Scientific American said so? I can use that for a pickup line.....;)
That ought to take care of the "strong dollar/weak dollar" debate.
