Oh, thanks for posting this! So glad to see by the replies so far that others seem to be excited about this. Folks, the HOT Chapter has been wanting to make this excursion for months, and we decided it would be the perfect way to celebrate the victorious election -- a gathering of FReepers from all over the state. FReepers are Fun!
Any Texas FReepers and lurkers who can make the drive, please join us. It is always wonderful to see old friends and meet new ones who you only know by their screen names!
We should make one minor clarification: I have not yet formalized the discount admission group rate, as the person in charge of that won't be back in her office 'til Monday. However, the very nice lady I spoke to indicated that this should not be a problem. I do believe we will get the group rate of $3.50, but if for some weird reason we don't, regular admission is only $5.00. (Hey, I just don't want to be accused of false advertising, LOL!)
If anyone has any special concerns that need to be addressed, please FReepmail me, I expect to be working out more details when I talk to the Group Reservations lady Monday.
If you think you may join us, please FReepmail me, TheSarce, as I would like to have a beginning estimate of how many people we'll have when I make the reservations. (No, I don't expect to have the final count, just a starting estimate.)
Please indicate a) how many adults; b) how many children 16 and under; and whether you are coming: a) DEFINITELY; b) PROBABLY/VERY LIKELY; or c) JUST MAYBE/NOT AT ALL SURE YET.
Hope to see lots of FReepers in College Station on Nov. 23!

While all of you Texas freepers thought I was sleeping.
For the first time since Civil War Reconstruction, Republicans seriously re-entered Burleson County politics by sweeping 5 of the 6 County races they entered with 45% of the County's registered voters going to the polls! When combined with Regional and State Republican wins, it was a very winning day for Republicans!

Just one Freeper in the trenches, looking forward to see you all across the river at the Bush Library.

Hey te Quest. Really proud of you all. Way to GO Republicans of Burleson County. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you'll be coming on the 23rd. Bet the museum has grown since the last time we were there, shortly after opening in 1998/1999 timeframe. I remember how we were saddened when reading about President Bush..and his eagerness to join the military at 17 years old, and comparing it to Clinton who took off for the USSR during the Vietnam War. What a difference.

Yes, we must convoy! I bought a couple dozen of those U.S. flags that you clamp into your car window at a Wal-Mart sidewalk sale, dirt cheap -- they're even made in the USA, not China, can you believe it, LOL? Hopefully will see you before the Field Trip, remind me to give you one.

One other clarification: still and video cameras ARE permitted inside the museum proper, you just can't use a flash in there. Photography by avaliable light only is okay inside the museum portion of the library. This means most point & shoots and disposable cameras will be useless inside, but a good manual camera with fast film is good for us shutterbug types who want to photograph the exhibits.

Thanks for the ping Gracey. Anote to anyone going, last time was at A+M she stopped by the library.Barbara Bush was strolling around with the dog and secret service guys close by. She asked the guys if she could say hello and they said sure! Barbara never minds. So she went up and shook her hand and told her how much she appreciated her family.

Hog Wild FReeper BUMP!
While it may be too short notice for the Hog Wild Chapter, I will certainly bring it up at our meeting today!
It would be a great maiden voyage" for the FReepmobile!
