The Lib Dems are already quietly working to legalize pot. This is a goal, but not one they scream loudly about. They're smarter than the libertarians in that regard. They know they cannot sell it with an in-your-face "I want my dope, a**hole!" libertarian approach that you find over at Liberty Post and Liberty Forum. Lib Dems prefer an indirect "poor suffering victim" approach designed to make opponents feel guilty about denying critical "medicine" to the suffering, the dying, the underprivileged self-medicating.

Once the Lib Dems have infantalizied dopers and absolved them of personal and moral responsibility for their idiot self-absorbed behavior, they will offer them medical care, drug rhab, even Medicaid and Medicare clinical grade medicinal pot--all at taxpayer expense. Suffering dopers then become just one more victim group addicted to nanny state breast milk. Voting booths will be set up right at the entrances of the government-sponsored rehab and drug distribution centers. The Lib Dems will see to it.

This trend is already well underway in Gay Davis's California. It's all the rage in the Bay Area.

So dope legalization isn't an show stopper. The libertarians and Lib Dems are already humming in harmony on that score. The Lib Dems need only ease up a bit on taxation or the Second Amendment and there will be a substantial shift of libertarian support openly to the Democrat Party.

Sorry, the Democrats should have read the fine print when they sold their soul to Satan.

There are no "buy back" rights.

No right to terminate contract before full term (eternity).

No rights to arbitration.

Satan knows how to write a binding contract. He's the original lawyer (taught all the other great lawyers everything they know).
