Well that's because you don't know beans about geometry, either...
Ha-ha-ha-ha-Ha-HA-HA-HA!!!
This is how they "win" discussions - by abusing those who post things which they cannot refute. Plus they just hang around all day while they know that the person being attacked cannot respond. As soon as the adults show up these little weasels dissappear.
You are looking under the wrong title it is called 'Darwinismus crapola est'.
The title is at the top of the link, as usual you are talking garbage semantics. As to your statement "And what the Pope means by materialistic evolution" you are no mind reader and unlike me you cannot quote a statement supporting your view. I can and here it is again (btw - just click on the link and at the top you will see the title):
The Pope's words are pretty clear and that is why you just insult me instead of discuss my statement:
I am glad you brought that up, gives me a chance to kill two birds with one stone. Below is a rather long quote which explains both the divinity of man and why Darwinian materialist evolution is in contravention of Christain Doctrine:
5. The Church's magisterium is directly concerned with the question of evolution, for it involves the conception of man: Revelation teaches us that he was created in the image and likeness of God (cf. Gn 1:27-29). The conciliar constitution Gaudium et Spes has magnificently explained this doctrine, which is pivotal to Christian thought. It recalled that man is "the only creature on earth that God has wanted for its own sake" (No. 24). In other terms, the human individual cannot be subordinated as a pure means or a pure instrument, either to the species or to society; he has value per se. He is a person. With his intellect and his will, he is capable of forming a relationship of communion, solidarity and self-giving with his peers. St. Thomas observes that man's likeness to God resides especially in his speculative intellect, for his relationship with the object of his knowledge resembles God's relationship with what he has created (Summa Theologica I-II:3:5, ad 1). But even more, man is called to enter into a relationship of knowledge and love with God himself, a relationship which will find its complete fulfillment beyond time, in eternity. All the depth and grandeur of this vocation are revealed to us in the mystery of the risen Christ (cf. Gaudium et Spes, 22). It is by virtue of his spiritual soul that the whole person possesses such a dignity even in his body. Pius XII stressed this essential point: If the human body take its origin from pre-existent living matter, the spiritual soul is immediately created by God ("animas enim a Deo immediate creari catholica fides nos retinere iubei"; "Humani Generis," 36). Consequently, theories of evolution which, in accordance with the philosophies inspiring them, consider the spirit as emerging from the forces of living matter or as a mere epiphenomenon of this matter, are incompatible with the truth about man. Nor are they able to ground the dignity of the person.
From: Truth Cannot Contradict Truth
The key to the Pope's view is really centered on one word - 'epiphenomenon'. Epiphenomenon means a secondary phenomenon and caused by it. Certainly evolution claims man to be created by materialistic means, it also claims that man differs from monkeys only degree, not in essence. So definitely Darwinian evolution contradicts Christianity and that is why it is opposed by so many Christians and supported by so many atheists.
The Pope specifically says that materialistic evolution is false, the title of the encyclical is "Truth Cannot Contradict Truth" and you can bet that the Pope is Catholic.
Fascinating. A functionally equivallent pattern, but just different enough to escape notice upon cursory inspection.
You know, this may be evidence of evolution in action...
"'Humani Generis'," he stated, "considered the doctrine of 'evolutionism' as a serious hypothesis, worthy of a more deeply studied investigation and reflection on a par with the opposite hypothesis. ... Today, more than a half century after this encyclical, new knowledge leads us to recognize in the theory of evolution more than a hypothesis. ... The convergence, neither sought nor induced, of results of work done independently one from the other, constitutes in itself a significant argument in favor of this theory."
Gore3000 has not addressed that quote - he can't, it's language is plain, and contradicts his position. My interpretation of 'materialistic evolution' is plainly buttressed by a later paragraph in the link.

Consequently, the theories of evolution which, as a result of the philosophies which inspire them, consider the spirit as emerging from forces of living matter or as a simple epiphenomenon of this matter, are incompatible with the truth about man. They are moreover incapable of laying the foundation for the dignity of the person.
No one but an idiot or a liar - and I'm coming to the conclusion that Gore3000 is not one, or the other, but both - could misinterpret this sentence: the Pope objects to evolutionary theories that consider the human spirit to have evolved or to be a mere function of physical matter.
I'm tired of Gore3000's mendacity; I'm tired of his repetitive postings; there's really no point in arguing with someone who will argue what the meaning of 'is' is in order to preserve tendentious misinterpretations directing at proving that a sentence which plainly states one thing, actually means its exact opposite. Indeed, if oral sex is not sex, if Clinton never had sex with that woman, then the Pope rejects evolution.
This will be my last word on this matter. Anyone who by now hasn't seen Gore3000 and his positions for what they are, is beyond anything I can do for them.
Perhaps. We'll have to wait for the next few generations (shudder) to be sure. Until then, I suggest we classify it as a polymorphic virus.
It took you long enough. I was starting to worry about you. But be warned -- the more you ignore him, the more he will insist that you are unable to counter his declarations, which will (he will claim) "prove" that he is correct. This is "proof by screaming alone in a rubber room," and it's a method which is not generally recognized by logicians.
Found out something interesting yesterday, Condoleezza Rice was born on Nov 14, 1954.
Condoleezza Rice's Secret Weapon
Being a "deeply religious person" has helped Rice rise to the challenge of serving a nation that has been shaken to its foundations by terrorism and international conflict. And that has meant turning frequently to prayerand not the kind laced with a "laundry lists of requests." When she needs "guidance and strength of conviction," says Rice, she often reads Romans 5, "which essentially says, Glory also in tribulation, because tribulation breeds perseverance and perseverance patience, and with patience comes hope. And hope is never disappointed, because of faith in the glory of God." "When I'm concerned about something, I figure out a plan of action, and then I give it to God," she told Essence magazine earlier this year. "I just ask to be carried through it. God's never failed me yet." |
Technological progress(fact/science) and biological evolution(fantasy/lies) are two different things---opposites!
You don't know the difference because your mind is collapsed---rubberized!
Easy there Professor. There is more to the story than meets the eye and I have posted it here once before. If you honestly believe that the Pope believes in evolution as you and your evo buddies do, you are sadly mistaken.
Check this out: What the Pope said
Furthermore, watching you and your evo gang of wolves constantly attack people for challenging your theory is getting tiresome -- not because you do it, but because of the way in which you do it. I am sure you would love it if people would just allow the evo theory to go unapposed and unscrutinized, so you and your little gang could claim to understand the gift of life and preach evolution as the gospel in our schools (you do already, but that's another issue). And you aren't even the worst offender (pun intended). There are other evo thugs who frequent these threads whose entire mission statement is to attack those with opposing views. The mistake they make is to think nobody notices.
Here's the bottom line: we (those who think evolution is a crock) aren't going away any time soon. Furthermore, there are more generations of us on the way (add my kids to the list). In time, the truth will be obvious to all.
Regards, MM
