The assistant basketball coach at an Indiana County high school was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital after falling 30 feet from a tree stand while hunting Wednesday afternoon.

Jason Kuzemchak, 24, of Clymer RD2, was transported by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital after being rescued by Cherryhill Township firefighters and Citizen's Ambulance Service personnel from a heavily wooded area on his father's farm along Spaulding Road.

As we enter the season where we satisfy our quest for venison, I thought the title of this article to be appropriate as a catchy reminder to our hunter friends.

Don't be a Clymer.
Please practice safe hunting.
And good luck getting that 12-point buck!

A Hunting We Will Go

A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a fox and put him in a box
And then we'll let him go

A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a fish and put him on a dish
And then we'll let him go

A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a bear and cut his hair
And then we'll let him go

A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a pig and dance a little jig
And then we'll let him go

A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
Heigh ho, the dairy-o, a hunting we will go
A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go
We'll catch a giraffe and make him laugh
And then we'll let him go

That's in Indiana County (where I live) and in the next school district over from the Indiana Area School District (also in which I live). My sisters and brother all live in Clymer, Pa. Small town - they probably know Mr. Kuzemchak.
God Bless him. Incidentally, every year, the citizens of Clymer host a reunion for all the men who served on the USS Clymer. It is a wonderful tribute to the men who served and a wonderful way for the children of that school district to learn about our veterans and how they have served our country.

I never did understand the "clymer" thing everybody talks about on FreeRepublic - can somebody clue me in?

Seriesly, it's from when President Bush, during the 2000 campaign, pointed out Adam Clymer to Dick Cheney and said he was an a$$#o|e. Cheney replied "Big time!"

With all respect to my native W. Pa friends in Clymer.
The name is also that of a liberal reporter that Dubya called an @$$hole during the campaign (when he thought the microphone was turned off)
Since then, "Clymer" has become a synonym with @$$hole.

I know what a Clymer is.

But what the devil s a "kuzoomchak?"
Is it like the sound he made hitting the ground, or what? Or is it like the Indiana version of the Richter Scale?

"Whoa feel that, Lester? Had to be a least 6 kazoomchaks!"

Kuzemchak - It's an eastern European name - probably Polish or Slovak. Lots of coal mines in this part of western Pa. Lots of immigrants came here to work in the mine. Many folks in this area are descended from eastern european immigrants.
Hoping poor Mr. Kuzemchak's Clymer from Clymer is going to be ok!

That could explain why some hunters mistakingly shoot cows instead of deer.

Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a drop of golden sun
Me a name I call myself
Far, a long long way to run
Sew, a needle pulling thread
La, a note to follow sew
Tea, I drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to ... oh oh oh
Doe, a deer, a female deer...
