The envelope, please [letter to the editor and gag]

The envelope, please

And the 2002 midterm election winners are: George W. Bush, Trent Lott, Big Tobacco, overdevelopment, deforestation (to protect the trees mind you), Big Oil (who needs fuel economy), the arms industry (including makers of cheap handguns and assault rifles plus the criminals and gang members who will then either steal or buy these same weapons), religious extremists, life-term judges who will affirm these beliefs, and finally all of those free thinkers who think that killing people in another country is OK as long as it looks like they might be up to something and it's probably in our national interest. And the losers are: ... none of the above.

My letter to the editor:

====================

Editor
Daily News

Sir:

I greatly enjoyed Chuck Heinold's letter (Nov 7) because hearing liberals whine gives me immense pleasure.

Let me offer some counter-point: the winners in the election included: individual liberties, the Bill of Rights, property rights, the justice system, national security, and fiscal responsibility.

The losers included socialists, radical egalitarianism (which seeks to make everyone equal by making everyone equally poor), judicial activists, and spotted-owl-tree-hugging-back-to-nature Luddites.

In other words, Mr. Heinold, the grown-ups are back in control and the Democrats' eight-year spree of irresponsibility and excess is over.

"Does anyone really read that paper?"

I do. I read both L.A. papers. Opposition research--Know Your Enemy.

The Daily News is slightly less liberal than the L.A. Times.

Oh, how sweet, he's talking about me. :-) Maybe not using the words I would, but that's me, and I AM A WINNER! Yeah!

He could also add, pro-lifers, those who think having conservative judges who make decisions based on rule of law would be a good thing, and people who are already over-taxed. Those would work as well. ;-)

I'm a winner, I'm a winner, I'm a winner. Say it with me, now. I'm a winner, I'm a winner, I'm a winner!

Oh, this is such an honor. Thank you, thank you, thank you. There are so many people to thank I don't know where to start.

First, we must thank Slick Bubba, our own little poster child for all things Democrat - stealing (money, votes, everything movable in the WH), lying (you name and he lied about it), treasonous acton (giving our nuclear and space secrets to China for campaign dollars), treasonous inaction (turning down the opportunity, several times, to capture Osama and generally failing to meaningfully react to terrorism), and just general overall sleaze.

And of course we must thank Bubba's puppeteer, Hillary. Were it not for her vengeful and evil mind, her dedication to the left, her unflagging greed and ambition to control the world, Bubba would not have had the staying power to do his act. Bubba just wanted the spotlight, a little graft (well, a lot of graft), the adoration of the stupid, Air Force One for touring the world, and lots of nookey. But Hillary, she is the one with that "..lean and hongry look."

And of course there is the supporting cast of leftists ding-dongs - Sid Bloomingthal, David Kendall, that little mute who was Bubba's right hand man, that other little twerp, Hillary's buddy, whose daddy was a key Communist in the FDR administration, Tom Daschle, Dick Gephardt, Pat Leahey, Ted Kennedy, Rep. Bonier from Mich..... Oh, there are so many leftist politicians I can't think of them all. And of course James Carville, Paul Begala, Bob Beckel, Dick Morris and their other fellow consultants. And we can't forget to thank the DNC, er, the Academy, and its leader Terry MacAuliffe. His warm and generous personality was a Godsend.

Without the outstanding work of these people in laying the groundwork, we may never have earned this award.

Again, thank you!
