We are dead. Portland and Eugene have another 100,000 votes to forge. I might as well move to California, at least death will be quicker.

Libertarian Tom Cox, who ran on a campaign promise to slash taxes by $1.5 billion and reduce government spending, was getting 4 percent of the vote. Aaaargh.

Last time I checked, Mannix had a whoppin 125 vote lead. He would be blowin Teddy away if the Libertarian wasn't in the race. A pox on him!

We are so tired of the current dim gov, Kitzhaber. I pray that Oregonians will elect Mannix, pro-life, Catholic and he hit the campaign running hard.
Kulongoski hardly campaigned in my area - Mid-Willamette Valley.
Please ping other Oregon FReepers for me.

Mannix wins. This is a vote by mail election and Mannix has been surging in the polls... logic would follow that the votes remaining are the ones which have been more recently mailed back... the ones cast while Mannix was surging...

I hope your are right. They have only counted about 65% of the vote. The remainder is supposedly out of Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas Counties. The question is whether the Republican vote in Washington and Clackamas counties can offset the rat vote out of Multnomah.
According to Fox Kulongoski is now up 197 votes.

88 if the Libertarian wasn't in the race. A pox on him!**
I agree!

Not good for Mannix.
To: Salvation
I wouldn't write him off yet. There are still 436,000 votes to count and he is only down about 7200.

" Not good for Mannix."You're right, sadly...
To: Salvation
What a close race at times just 44 votes apart.
Last word CH.2 KATU 7 thousand in favor of Dem. Goski
My son and I are sending are prayers up for Mannix through the night.
Looks like our party is kickin' tail all over the country
I would like to think this is the outcome of allot of hard working FR folks.
To: Wphile
Let's hope we break 20 yrs. of dem. bondage.
I liked when Mannix said we need to get our state moving I turned to my son and said yeah Kitzhopper is a doctor and he couldn't even treat simple constipation. He He

My concern right from the beginning was that the leftist machines in Multnomah (Portland) and Lane (Eugene) counties would not allow Mannix to win in a close election.
