I haven't seen this posted yet, but give it a read, and see if the comments made by the ACLU rep send a chill up your spine, to the effect that people who feel so free to express "intolerance" are dangerous.

"Bunch of right-wing, homophobe, rednecks!" Just kidding. I can say this because I am all three. Proud that they had the guts to stand up against this PC garbage. Just a warning: expect a backlash from gay/lesbian groups (remember the Boy Scouts?).

''Anything could happen,'' Andrea said. ''A lot of people say it will die down, and I hope it does. I hope it doesn't get violent. I hope it doesn't get out of hand.''

And of course it will, to some extent. There are reasons why minors are not allowed to vote, and there are reasons why it is not a good idea to have 100 teenagers roaming around a small town in the middle of the day. This is a case study for both.

"a community where people feel so free in expressing their intolerance. That must be a difficult place to be."
ACLU

I was under the impression that the ACLU was a staunch supporter of the First Amendment. I guess that applies only to liberal causes.

This is hilarious after seeing over the weekend that the ACLU is broadcasting a commercial ($1 million ad campaign) stating that Attorney General John Ashcroft is trashing the Constitution. Isn't this what the ACLU is doing with the above mentioned statement?

The ACLE defended the KKK's right to intolerantly march here in Texas. The liberals hate the ACLU on days like that.

You are correct that the ACLU will occaisionally support a racist group like the KKK or the American Nazi Party. They even once defended a pro-life nurse fired for wearing a pin. This is simply window-dressing which allows them to tell the unsuspecting that they believe in everyone's civil liberties without blatantly lying. The vast majority of cases (over 90%) brought by the ACLU are in support of the leftist agenda. The ACLU and the rest of the 'tolerance' crowd are in fact leftist totalitarians who would set up a gulag in short order if they were ever to gain complete control. In the meantime, they will continue to chisel away at what is left of the constitution.
