Of course, one has to know what a lightered-knot is to live here.Isn't "lightered" kindling? But what the heck is a lightered-knot??

Lightered is kindling. The pieces are cut from a lightered knot, which is a large piece of pine that has, over time, become kindling. The knots are very heavy, so when it rains alot, it's sometimes described as a "lightered-knot floater".
