Interesting. Personally, I fear such an ammendment (#1) given that Charlottesville is so tax-happy. the doubling of parking fines couple with wasteful traffic calming projects has me considering burying my money under my house.
I voted yes on #1 because I thought any measure designed to address crime I was for, but I worry I didn't read it correctly.
I screwed up my numbers. I voted for the "crime" ammendment and no on the "tax" ammendment
