According to the Shari’ah, if a girl is a minor (did not attain puberty), she may be given in marriage by her father. When she attains puberty, she has the right to maintain the marriage or discontinue the marriage. There is no age limit to be intimate with one’s wife even if she is a minor.

1. You are allowed to marry your first cousin. There is absolutely nothing wrong in this.

I really don't know what kind of biased people go on this website, first of all she was not his niece , she was the daugthter of his friend (in Islam everyone is refered to as brother or sister because we are all related to adam) and why do u care how old she was, she agreed without being pressured at all to marry him, and for ur information he treated her much like a daughter, bought her toys and she had her friends over. She even often went to her father, nothing that would occur between husband and wife happened between them until she was much older (and by the way they had no kids despite the fact that there was no type of birth control what does that tell u!)
oh and Muhammad never violated any of the laws of Islam ...and trust me i know what I'm talking about i've studied the prophet's life extensively at my mosque and I'm not some naive person that has no clue wut ur talking about, i've lived in Canada all my life and have heard many ignorant comments about Islam.
