...on Wednesday Leahy and Jeffords can return to obscurity!
As a flatlander, all I can say is that Vermont is in the Dim column no matter what perfidy they commit.
Hope you mend well.

I'll just charitably say that your understanding of public finance is a wee suspect if you believe the Fed has anything to do with the government running a deficit.

Zogby was wrong in 2000, he is as a matter of fact often wrong, is a democrat (Zogby I mean), and his poll questions are almost always skewed almost as badly as the NYT polls.
Dick Morris is a Democrat, a Clintonista, and although he is angry with the Clintons for slights which he received, immagined as Hillary says, or real as Dick asserts, he is a
DEMOCRAT who does not want a GOP takeover of anything. Just because Fox's Hannity and and what's his face have him on their show as a "Pundit" doesn't mean his articles and personal views are not as skewed as the rest of the Dem bile.
Personally I think he is smarmy and alot like Terry McAwfull who hit a new low this week. Who would have thunk it possible for Terry to hit a new low? But he did with "It was the Wellstone Boys who are responsible for the Memorial Servie turned Campaign Rally, Nazi style. I wonder does it ever occur to these devout democrats that they have just been sacrificed? Like Black widows devouring their mate to the great cause of keeping the criminals in office?
We have been reminded so often that the Great ALBORE overwhelmingly won the popular vote that we get wobbly. Take another look at the red and blue map of the 2000 election.

Morris has generally been wrong. Zogby has generally been right. How should the Morris Dance with Zogby be rated?

I've been posting for years under an earlier name. Don't worry, I'm voting for Ryan tomorrow.

I wouldn't let Dick Morris suck my toes.
Why would I trust his opinion?

I remember that totally. It didn't make the "debt" look smaller. It made interest payments lower so it made the "cost of servicing the debt" smaller than if paying it off through long bonds with higher interest rates. Rubin was gambling that rates would remain low during Clinton's term and rise later hurting the GOP if it took power. He was right about them remaining low so that part of his gamble paid off.
As it turned out it was the correct policy since long term rates have fallen greatly since 9/11 so the GOP won't be hurt by having to refinance at higher rates. This means that before rates rise, as they will, Treasury should lock in long rates now to minimize federal interest payments.
That was one policy of the Clinton administration which actually worked out well for the nation. Probably blind luck but we can be thankful for small favors. It was not "Smoke and Mirrors" in effect even if it was in intent.
Dickie boy, Dickie boy... keeping his toe in the Dem councils.
