The good and decent people who remain in the party deserve no less.
The Party needs to throw out the corrupt leadership, and purge itself of the lunatic extremist groups, and that's not going to happen until both the leadership and the extremist rhetoric are both completely discredited.
And only an overwhelming defeat will do that.

Absolutely. We have the spectacle of the leading Democrat, Al Gore, going around the country implying and saying that the presidential election was stolen. Obviously, he knows that the laws of Florida mandated an end to the vote counts and that the Florida supreme court acted lawlessly. He's not that dumb. Yet his main strategy, the leader of the party, is to divide the nation with a campaign of lies. This really is Goebbels stuff.
