Allen will not back roads levy Says he will vote against N.Va. sales-tax increase

WASHINGTON - Sen. George Allen has broken his silence on a proposed sales-tax increase for roads in Northern Virginia, saying he will vote against it.

"The proponents simply have not convinced me that raising taxes in the fashion they have proposed is the best way to go," Allen said in a telephone interview yesterday while traveling in Virginia.

Everyone supporting that increase in the VA state sales tax is a corporatist conartist.

And they are not going to be any better in the future!

Food for thought....I don't know about hampton roads area but if we got all the illegals off the road in N.Va instead of raising the sales tax the roads would be much less congested.
