I propose that we, as Americans, allow for the option of parents to kill their children up to the age of 3 and for the option of children to kill their parents once they are past the age of 75.
Additionally, we should push for the tool of population control in our nation, as well as gunning down anyone who attempts to enter our country illegally. Moreover, we should be able to hand out the death penalty to anyone who commits a crime.
Does this sound like rational thought? Well, it is a logical step in the "advancement" of our ideals, morals and beliefs in the nation of "freedom." This may be a barbaric idea to the countries of the world – and maybe even some people in this country – but if we intend to have any logic in our beliefs, they must line up.
No, I haven't snapped or turned into a psychopath. However, the insane statements above apply directly to the issue of abortion.
If we, as a nation, can decide that it is right, it is moral and it is just to murder the essence of innocence and helplessness, then we should hang our heads in shame and repent or else be damned.
Otherwise, let me ask you a question: What is the next step of immorality if we can convince ourselves that it is OK to allow our children to be put into a shredder as they begin life, or butchered and suctioned from their mother's womb?
Unfortunately, many have avoided this question. If you push something to the back of your mind and ignore it for long enough, it becomes calloused over and left alone.
Many rationalize it in an attempt to make it right in their mind. "It's not the government's right to decide what a woman should do with her body," and, "It's a private decision between her and her doctor."
Have you heard the one about the fetus being part of the mass of a woman's body, much like an appendix? Many expect us to believe that, but it is just another rationalization of evil. If the baby's blood type is different than the mother's, and that blood mixes, it can cause a rejection, resulting in complications or death. It is obvious that the "fetus" is a real, living human being.
In addition, the attempt to push the abortion issue out of the view screen is evident in the case where a woman is suing an abortion clinic because she accidentally saw her murdered child in a jar on the counter. She knew she might be able to handle it if she didn't have to see it or deal with it.
If we can push it far enough away, it can be ignored, but the fact remains that if my mother decided to abort my birth out of convenience, you wouldn't be reading this or my weekly thoughts. Furthermore, nearly 42 million children have died as a result of abortion, since the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court ruling in 1973.
Yet, while some mothers who have had abortions or partial-birth abortions have continued throughout their entire life with emotional anxiety, guilt and regret, we must deal with this issue for those who have calloused it over, unless you wish eventually to live in a world where value of human life is at zero.
What egged on this rant? You, no doubt, guessed that it had something to do with the 2002 elections that are coming up on Nov. 5. George W. Bush and many of his Republican friends have said that they will fight against abortion if they are elected to office.
One thing that I have been asking myself is the question of whether anything will be different if the Republicans take over Congress and have full control of both houses and the presidency.
I have a challenge for them: If the powers of Congress shift into the hands of the GOP, you must work against the abortion ruling in the Supreme Court and fight for heavy restrictions on abortion. No, a few bills here and there that put a few restrictions on partial-birth abortion won't cut it.
If you want anyone on this planet to believe the Republican powers on Capitol Hill have an ounce of conviction at all, then fight for this key, conservative belief that the American people have been waiting on for a long, long time.

It's been a little while since I've read an article by you. I'd say I see (or rather, feel) a bit of steady improvement in your writing. And that's not implying there was anything wrong with it earlier.
