Islam - The Green Wall Of Silence ==----> Tashbih Sayyed

Similarly, the behavior of Muslim main street also demonstrated an absence of true and responsible leadership. Muslims in Arab countries, instead of sharing the grief of the civilized world, were observed celebrating the carnage in New York. Their retrogressive attitude confirmed their image of a people who are led by leaders devoid of any understanding of human values. Echoing the sentiments of their leaders, most of them were heard saying that Americans deserved the atrocity. None of their leaders was forthcoming in condemning the barbaric act.

What was shocking to many was the silence of the Muslim leaders - political and religious both. In the view of the rational world, this was the moment when Muslim leadership could have shown to the world that they do not condone violent behavior. They could also have convinced the non Muslim world that they are not encouraging the extremist elements in their midst. But they failed miserably and in the process betrayed their real self - a side that hates freedoms and human advancement.

Egad, that has to be the ugliest webpage I've ever attempted to read. Yuck.

Gujarat was a screwup for both muslims and hindus, but it's probably already faded in the minds of most westerners.

The part of the column you quoted was the best. It's absolutely true.

THere was an earthquake in Gujarat in eraly 2000; estimates were 30-50K plus fatalities. This though religious, not an act of nature was confined to a few area that got hammered by the mobs.

"Their retrogressive attitude confirmed their image of a people who are led by leaders devoid of any understanding of human values."

A devout Muslim, by definition, doesn't have human values. They submit to the will of Allah, who can command the death and slaughter of his enemies. What's the news here?

Regarding your post #5, FWIW I have visited India recently and in discussions with locals regarding the earthquake, they figure probably 400 to 500k people lost in the quake. Literally whole villages swallowed up. I don't think there is a firm grasp on actual population densities in the country.

I can't thank you enough for the effort you make posting articles from beyond the "shopping mall wall". I had never heard of the Rediff site until you posted an article from it. Varsha Bhosle is really a firecracker. What a wonderful, refreshing, fantastically abrasive polemic style.

As to this particular article---the toad in the thanksgiving turkey is this line:

"...In the view of the rational world, this was the moment when Muslim leadership could have shown to the world that they do not condone violent behavior....

At some point we're going to have to examine this "cult of peace" that is gripping the decadent world. No rational ethics embraces "peace" without a whole series of codicils. Post-christian Christianity only preaches "peace" as the highest human virtue becasue it is so decadent. The sock-loving little protestant George W. Bush, earnestly assuring us of islam's peaceful intentions, is missing the point---as is the author of this article.

The international mohammedan leadership didn't take the "opportunity" to show the world they do not condone violent behavior because--well duh!--they DO condone violent behavior.

All religions and cultures--if they are not totally mummified--condone violent behavior. The cult of peace is merely a device by the Western Ruling Elite to force the vast unwashed masses to sit with their knees together and their hands folded sipping tea and talking endlessly about "tolerance" while that same Elite storms around the planet bombing, (excuse me "humanitarianizing) and blowing up any manifestation of human behavior of which they do not approve.

On the day that Bill Clinton appeared before the students of Columbine to exhort them not to solve their problems with violence, American planes were bombing downtown Belgrade, falling next door to a maternity hospital.

Say what you will about Kliebold and Harris--they comprehended the hollowness at the heart of the culture which their Elders bequeathed them.

Similarly, mohammedans smell a weak elephant on its way to the elephant dying ground as they survey the State of Western Civlization. The only question is whether not the non-elites in the West can wash the smell of decay from their own arms and legs and re-discover the barbaric vitality of a living culture.

Peace is not the natural state of human beings. It's something that must be fought for tooth and nail. The mohammedans are fighting for the "peace of islam" as Shoeless George would say. What are we fighting for?

Thanks, she certainly is. I'd like to see a fantasy panel of this guy, her, Steyn, Hitchens on cspan sometime.

But i think sayyed has been blacklisted from tv after his one or two appearances on hardball. He certainly caused Jim Zogby to sputter and stutter about his support for jihadis.
