When a convicted three-time murderer passes out of this life, there's typically not a lot of mourning.
There's some, though, and the other day, Jerry Thompson's widow, Jackie Thompson, sat on the sofa of her modest Eastside home, alternately planning the funeral, choking back tears and chain-smoking generic cigarettes, extra-long ultra-lights. Usually a pack a day is enough for her, but this week she has gone through twice that.
