Thank you for all that you do and for your dedication in making sure that those of us who love our country and our military have an avenue in which to express our deepest gratitude to our heroes, Vets, Allies and friends. God bless America!

Fabulous Sam, these are such heart felt expressions. The little guy, I have a lump in my throat about him.
Thanks Sam!

Hail to the ChiefI remember this line from Braveheart, simple words and yet I find it so powerful:
"they may take our lives, but they will never take away our FREEDOM!"
I think of the President every time I hear this line and your picture captures the essence of this rallying cry......I also think of our men and women of the military, both past and present who gave so much of themselves so that those of us who are alive today can enjoy that very same FREEDOM they fought for....and to them, my heartfelt THANK YOU!

Palpatine Endorses Bush -- Official Press Statement
26 Nov 2000, 02:29 AM EST
"My decision to support Governor Bush in these last few days of the campaign comes as a result of my disdain for the Clinton Administration, of which Vice-President Gore will forever be connected. There is no civility, only politics. The Presidency is not what it once was. The White House is full of greedy, squabbling advisors. There is no interest in the common good......"
"As for my endorsement of George W. Bush, I feel confident our situation will create a strong sympathy vote for us. Bush will be President. I understand my supporters in the Imperial Party may be a bit disappointed by this turn of events, but I would like to assure you all that everything that has transpired has done so according to my design, and everything is proceeding as I have foreseen......" :-)

since the tribute is to President Bush I thought you all might be interested to know that ohioWfan, her son Eric and myself went to Charleston to see the President last night. Our report is on last night's "dose" thread. We had a spot on the barrier in front of the stage. ohioWfan told the President, "I pray for you and Laura every day." He hugged her and kissed her on the cheek and said, "Thank you, that is the kindest thing you can do for us." I was able to place my hand over his and he reached up and shook hands with Eric. Eric said, "I just shook hands with ny Commander-In-Chief!" It was a fantastic evening concluded with a fine dinner and a good night's sleep before they departed back to Ohio. I don't think any of us have come back down to earth yet.

Please take a moment and Thank a Service Man or Woman. Thank you, Tonkin for the links. There really is no excuse not to spend at least 5 min to drop a line or two to thank our military. I have sent my notes not because I have to but because I want to. I also extended the invitation for them to come and visit FR especially the Canteen. So that they can see that they are truly appreciated. They probably don't hear it often enough and they deserve so much more.
To: WVNan
Thanks for telling us that Nan. I'll bet Eric was beaming!

Kayak, I love those pictures of the President. They are just two of my favorites. I see a lot of really good shots of him as well as our lovely and classy First Lady at DITL. Thank you for posting them here.

DOD News Release
November 1, 2002
MISSING SOLDIER DECLARED DEAD
The Department of Defense today announced that Sgt. Ryan D.
Foraker, 31, of Logan, Ohio, has been declared dead. Foraker
was reported missing from his unit in Guantanamo, Cuba, on Sep.
24. Exhaustive ground, sea, and air searches were conducted in
an effort to locate him but were unsuccessful.
Foraker's clothes and personal effects were found near the
water's edge, leading the investigating officer, absent any
evidence to the contrary, to determine that Foraker had died in
the waters of Guantanamo Bay. An extensive criminal
investigation uncovered no reason to suspect foul play.
Foraker was assigned to the 342nd Military Police Company, U.S.
Army Reserve, Columbus, Ohio, which was deployed as part of
Operation Enduring Freedom to support detainee operations in
Guantanamo.

I'm loathe to admit it sometimes, but I gotta agree with the Bushbots and say that Dubyuh's a purty kewl dudeHe is one of those men who ages gracefully, looks good and so distinguished as he matures, ala Sean Connery!

Re #127
Great photo - I don't see a single fake smile in the whole group. Our troops make me so proud, as does our Commander in Chief.
I'm really late getting to the party. What time does our transportation take off?
