There comes a point when government officials have to stop bitching about how awful the previous administration was and take some steps to fix it. Homeland Security will be a big plus, but that doesn't give Ashcroft an excuse to do nothing until the Rs take the senate.

I'm really undecided as to whether inaction due to laziness, incompetance, or cowardice is what is guiding the DOJ and immigration.

I couldn't agree with you more, that "There comes a point when government officials have to stop bitching about how awful the previous administration was and take some steps to fix it."

But in this instance, when INS personnel can't be fired, and systems can't be changed by the stroke of a Presidential pen, and we've got an obstructionist democrat senate, then we have to have patience.

In the meantime, the more people who are reminded about Gore's intentional corruption of government agencies, the better. As long as Gore remains a potential presidential candidate in 2004, as long as he holds power of persuasion and kinship with the DNC, we've got to make cerain the voting public is well informed. Clinton's crimes are now irrelevant, no need harping on him, (except for fun), but Al Gore is a different matter. Same goes for Hillary.
