I personally don't care what color any of those involved are/were. It was a brutal crime regardless of race or hate laws. This deserved media attention because of the heinous nature of the crime. Whether they hated the victims because they were white or the Carr brothers are sadistic bastards is irrelevant. Four people are still dead and charging them with a hate crime won't change that.

These men (and I use that term loosely) are animals and should be treated as such. No, I take that back...they shouldn't be treated as humanely as animals.

It's no big surprise that the murder trial of Reginald and Jonathan Carr has had so much media coverage.

so much that practically nobody outside of Free Republic knows about it.

Imagine if they were white and their victims were black. It would have been wall to wall media coverage on every network and in every newspaper in the country.

Funny thing is, I have been following this for a while. The relevant facts of this case are actually quite putrid. The surviving female stated in her police report interview that when one of the perps was sodomizing her, he actually placed the gun down on the carpet, but she didn't know how to "... work a gun..", so went along to hopefully not get shot. The bravest act of defience or self defense that night was done by the poor man who was to become a priest. He refused to perform a sexual act on on of the females and was pistol whipped because of it. Do you know that on at least 2 occasions, only one perp was in the room with 3 grown men, who were cowering in the closet? Think! They are raping and sodomizing your fiance, there are 3 of you, only 2 of them, with one in the 'act' of vigilance. Go to the "AR" web-site to view a very detailed and fact based look at the case. If there were no liberals in the world your post would make perfect sense.

But unfortunately that's not the case.

Probably very few if any here would be mentioning race except for the fact that every time a white guy does something to a black person it becomes a national issue of "look what evil whitey did". But whenever a black person does something to a white person the media says "move along, there's nothing to see here."

I for one am not going to let them have it both ways. Liberals and their buddies in the media must either help to get rid of all hate crime laws. Or they must apply them equally.

I am not looking to get into an argument with anyone. The surviving victim, "H.G.", was the teacher of friends of my grandchildren. This could have turned out differently if she had known how to use a gun. She pondered at one point if possibly she could be quick enough to get hold of the gun but knew she did not know how to use it. How I wish she would have had that knowledge. Perhaps a woman reading of this will take the time to learn how to handle a gun. I know something of guns but picking up an unknown weapon and firing it in a hurry would be a challenge.

This happened before the 9-11 attack on the USA. These guys might have behaved differently had this happened after we all got a lesson in heroics. My point was these guys are dead and second guessing their actions isn't helpful. Such a tragedy. My hope is the Carr brothers will have to pay for their crimes with their lives.

Also I hope that you're not mad at me.

Mad? Never. Frustrated? Daily. This particular crime has generated quite a bit of controversy. From the failure of the local PD to DA's office to pursue it as a "hate crime", to the initial lack of interest within the media, and by media I mean national. Compared with the onslaught of coverage toward the Byrd murder in Jaspar, Texas, to the murder of the homosexual in Wyoming,it was a hate crime if there ever was one, yet no one seems willing to hold the heinous act to the same accountability that it would had the victim vs. perp roles been reversed. Ah well, we could spew on for hours.
Lastly, it breaks my heart as to how it all happened. For you, who has an agonizingly close connection, it will be a "what if..." for years. Those two sub-human, inbred, monsterous, scat filled killers should be killed in a cruel and unusual manner. Maybe we could resurrect "Hannibal Lecter" to perform one of his more artistic dinners.

Thank you. I have a knot in my stomach that will probably be there until the verdict is read. A member of the jury made a statement, something about hating to see a "brother" have to go through this that has me worried. It's going to be tough if they come back with anything less than the death penalty for the both of them.

I last checked on Wednesday (10/30/2002) and their search engines still don't know nuttin about no |"Reginald Carr"| or |"Wichita" and "Carr"| or |"Heather Muller"|.

Unbelievable. If anyone still doubts that we have commissars from the Democrat National Socialist Party running the newsrooms, this fact alone proves it.

You're right, you won't find any of this anywhere. I believe that the only papers that printed anything about this massacre were papers in KS and possibly, Chicago. Sickening, isn't it?
