Now there is a measurement I can understand! I'm still trying to figure out just how long a light year is. I wish there was an easier definition for it besides the mathematical one.

If you had a car that could go 186,000 miles in one second, (the speed of light) and you drove it for a year without stopping, you would go one light year. It's a distance, not a time measurement.
A very long distance!
